Film critic Judith Crist, well known for her candid, often blistering reviews, was New York Tribune royalty. One of my copyboy duties was to field her phone calls when she was out. One day I picked up a call and heard, "Hello there," in a deep, extremely familiar voice. "I'd like to speak to Miss Crist, please. This is Gregory Peck." I almost dropped the phone.
